Top 10 Things I Wish My Passengers (PAX) Knew
10. Wait Time - The reason WHY Drivers hate it, is because we get only $0.09/minute for waiting. Right, 9 CENTS PER MINUTE. So, you need to stop at 7-11 for beer/cigarettes, and IF you've been nice to me so far, then fine, maybe. OTOH, If you want me to wait while you go inside the restaurant to "Talk to your bro"? Or into the bank to "Make 1 Transaction"? Then, NO. BTW, that 9 cents/minute is also for me waiting for you to come outside at the start. It's $ NOTHING.
9. Tipping is NOT REQUIRED. It is however, GRATEFULLY appreciated. You know, since I did get you from here to there safely, and quickly, and cleanly, not to mention my awesome conversational skills and personality. Just saying.
8. Airport pickup. Know where the rideshare pickup is, or ask somebody. I can't direct you, and drive to you at the same time. Also, we can only wait at the Airport curb for about 3 minutes, before airport security complains.
7. If you live in a gated community, I would appreciate a text with the gate code. Trust me, I don't care what it is, and I forget it as soon as the gate opens.
6. I generally won't engage you in conversation beyond a greeting and a name verification, UNLESS you want to talk first. Then I'll happily talk your head off. Otherwise, some people like peace and quiet. Granted, it's a fine line.
5. If you are ordering a Rideshare for your friend, please call or text me with their name, and what they're wearing. Don't know? Call them first (Duh).
4. Don't move too far away, after ordering. The app DOES NOT update your location, if you order a car, then move, I may go to the wrong place. Example: Ordering from your Hotel room, then going to the lobby. Also, the apps auto pin locator sometimes gets the address wrong. Best bet, manually enter the business name or home address, and I'll be at the front door.
3. I am not your servant, we are partners in this deal. Nuff said.
2. If there's no place for me to pull over, I can't pick you up, nor drop you off right there! You wouldn't believe this happens, but it does. People order rides, expecting me to stop in the lane so they can climb in, or get out. I can't, it's illegal. By the way, "Obstructing Traffic" is a $250 fine. I know.
1. Last, but not least, if you've read some of my other Blog posts, you know, I'm not doing this for the money (I don't need $ it.), I'm doing it for the people. The fun ones, the interesting ones, the sexy ones, and yes, even the rude ones. I love you all, you've all been a small part of making and keeping, my retirement interesting. Thanks much. :-)

Point number two is a biggie for me! Especially downtown Phoenix!

Update, now both apps DO show where a PAX has moved too after ordering. I'm still not driving around chasing you, but it is fun to see the dot moving towards me :-)
